🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨
Scammers are becoming more convincing every day. Please take a moment to protect yourself, your family, and especially elderly loved ones from common fraud tactics.
⚠️ RED FLAGS OF A SCAM:
• Check the sender’s email address carefully — scammers often use addresses that look similar to legitimate companies or government agencies.
• Do NOT call phone numbers listed in suspicious emails or messages without independently verifying who they belong to.
• Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers to someone you do not personally know and trust.
• If someone tells you to stay on the phone while going to the bank, it is likely a scam.
• If you are instructed to lie to a bank teller about why you are withdrawing money, it is a scam.
• Never provide personal information, banking information, passwords, or verification codes over the phone to unsolicited callers.
Scammers often use fear, urgency, or threats to pressure victims into acting quickly. Legitimate businesses, government agencies, and law enforcement will never demand immediate payment or instruct you to hide transactions from your bank.
If something feels suspicious:
✅ Hang up
✅ Verify the information or contact the police department
✅ Contact the organization directly using a trusted phone number or website
✅ Speak with a trusted family member or friend
