Food AppFast recently concluded an event where we retrofit our online ordering platform for a ticketed smoked and fired foods festival in .

This event highlighted the nimbleness of our online ordering system, while also showing us some shortfalls in the way of our back end reporting. Since our system is meant for restaurants and one-off orders, the reporting system and customer acquisition is made to support that. The long term customer list is still available, but seeing what we can work on is valuable for improving the system in the long run.

In the future I’ll have my development team working on strengthening our reporting capabilities to better support this new Avenue for online ordering. Because at the end of the day, 7% online order fee beats out 25% on the mega event ticketing platforms.

I am building my businesses in a different way online now. And it reminds me so much of how bamboo grows.

When you plant bamboo, it does all its work underground for 4 years. It builds a strong foundation, expands its root system, or network, to support the insane growth that’s going to happen.

In year 5, it sprouts, then can grow up to 90 ft! All because it took the time to prepare.

Would you be willing to give up the immediate gratification of a sale to build your network for insane growth? Would you be willing to provide insane value, and serve others with no expectation of reciprocation, knowing that your year 5 is being built?!
