After weeks of figuring out the best way to get the computer oriented, cables managed, and ultimately running, it's finally finished! Say hello to the most intense gaming/workstation/multimedia PC I've had the pleasure of working on.

This is actually an interesting move by Microsoft in my opinion. I think skipping 9 and going straight to 10 works based on what they're doing, since the new OS isn't an incremental update like the last few have seemed to be, but more like a complete overhaul of their systems. I can't wait for it to come out and start playing around with it!

Microsoft officially unveiled its new operating system at an event in San Francisco this morning, but contrary to expectations, it's not Windows 9.

People think PC gaming is a niche market, and that only a handful of people play PC games, and yet this is a huge number of people! The best part is that it's much more cost effective when you think about the games that go on sale constantly, you don't need the highest end equipment to run today's games, and you save on shelf space with all those games.

This is the first time I can remember that PC gaming was mentioned at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) without me having to remind an exec that we existed. Unprompted, Intel's Kirk Skaugen took to the stage in the main keynote proclaiming “desktop is alive and well. It's innovating, whether it's smal…

Tomorrow is Internet Slowdown Day, and more and more websites are taking part! Netflix has recently announced they will be showing a message along the buffering time about net neutrality, and this will expose the term to millions of people who had never heard of it before. Hopefully this will show not only the citizens, but Congress and the FCC that as ISPs are built now, it is not beneficial to the consumer, and only stands to destroy any kind of competition. Keep a look out on your favorite websites all day tomorrow, you will see SOMETHING about the Slowdown.

I have been working on this for a recent client, and this is only halfway done. By the time all the parts come in, this will be able to run every program for the next 4 years, and will open into the Windows Desktop within 10 seconds! Primarily for gaming, it will be able to play every game on Ultra settings for the foreseeable future. By far one of the most powerful computers you can get, and you'll never find this on a shelf at a big box store!

Don't let Comcast/Time Warner Cable ever convince you that fast lanes are a good idea. Keep an eye out for September 10th, as many websites will show just what the difference is between net neutrality, and the creation of fast lanes you have to pay to have access to.

Evan from Fight for the Future writes, "If you woke up tomorrow, and your Internet looked like this, what would you do?" Imagine all your favorite websites taking forever to load, while you get annoying notifications from your ISP suggesting you switch to one of their approved 'Fast Lane' sites.

This is one of the mid range computers I have built, mostly designed for some light gaming and some office processing. It has been running perfectly with no hiccups in almost the year since it was built.

If you ever needed to know something about computers, LinusTech is the best place to go! Thanks to him, I've amassed a large working knowledge of the PC industry, as well as computers themselves. Here's a great video explaining the difference in Intel Processors
