Hey folks!

We are closing this week to spend some much-needed time with family while they are in town. We will be responding to emails and messages when we can, but won't be in the shop. We will be resuming our normal hours of 10-6, March 2.

First repair on our bench this morning was a iPhone 15 Pro that was shipped in for no power. No surprise here but the Apple store AND another shop both told them that all of their data was lost. They were devastated.... Thousands of photos, personal and business contacts, and even voice messages from a lost loved one all gone. While chatting with a friend, who came to us a few months ago with a similar issue they were told to reach out to see what we could do. Not only were we able to recover their data but their iPhone has been repaired for long term use, saving them not only heartache but $1200 to replace their phone.

iPhone 15 series has a common issue where a at least one microchip on the charging circuit goes bad causing the device not to charge, no power, or even no touch. This phone was not charging at first, once I split the board to get to the internal IC's I noticed immediately that there was a chip with a burn on the corner. We replaced that chip and now the phone is charging, powering on and working just as it was beforehand.

Apple tells people that their motherboard needs to be replaced for very repairable issues. We were able to repair this Macbook Pro for 1/4 of the cost of a replacement board.

This MacBook was brought to us by another shop that took this in after there was a board repair attempt from some unknown person. We could hear the computer chime when we plugged it in but the screen didn't react. I quickly narrowed the issue down to a circuit on the board that projects light to the display, so the image while still present was only visible under a bright light. I was able to track down a shorted capacitor on that circuit and once removing the capacitor the image was returned to normal.

If Apple or another shop tells you it can't be fixed, bring it to us!
