Happy Monday everyone!

Unfortunately, I have not been able to devote much time to Battle Cartography in the last year and I have been neglecting the business. I have decided to shut Battle Cartography down. In the future I may reopen the business.

Thank you all for your support! I am proud that I was able to serve so many.

Last Saturday Battle Cartography (my wife and I) attended Ohio's 4th Annual Veteran's Conference at The Ohio State University.

It was great to meet so many Veterans and organizations that support Veterans.

Also we have a lot of leftover brownies if anyone is interested 😆

My grandfather fought in WW2. He was a bombardier trained on the Norden Bombsight at Midland Army Airfield.

A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to take a tour of the Air Force Museum at Wright Paterson AFB where I found the Norden Bombsight along with the beautiful Memphis Belle B-17.

I have been researching my grandfather's military history and I hope to create a map of his service for my family members.

I am really passionate about doing this kind of historical research and creating maps for families. My goal is to help Veterans pass on their stories for generations to come.

We cannot forget their journeys and sacrifices.

Big News! 🥳

I just published the 2nd Edition of the 2006-2007 Battle of Ramadi map!

I spend around 100 hours updating the design and art for this map. It comes paper print, canvas and framed canvas.

It's available on my website or on Etsy

Veteran Voices. "So, rather than just dumping dirt out there and sandbags, what we started to do was we started Operation Jamestown, no work, no food, on Camp Ramadi proper, which meant that everybody, before every meal on Camp Ramadi at the main chow hall, had to fill two sandbags."

I heard this story on the Jocko Podcast and a lightbulb clicked.

This story isn't just about discipline or shared hardship....

It's about shared responsibility - always have your battle buddy's six (civilian translation - all have your friend, coworker, neighbor, family member's back).

Fred Roger's song "Won't you be my Neighbor?" was said to have been an invitation and is directly referencing the Bible. "The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:39

So love your neighbor and fill up two sandbags before you eat chow.
