Our History:
Formerly known as REJJ Technologies, RedGware formed in 1992 as a contract computer programming company specializing in IBM AS400 software development. This was before major corporations trusted the Internet for accessing corporate data. Back in the early 90’s we were solely an IT staff augmentation provider. Corporations hired as many contract programmers as they could find and the I
BM AS400 was a major platform housing and processing corporate databases. RPG was the language of choice on the AS400. RPG and the AS400 served companies well. However, text based screen interfaces were beginning to lose popularity to GUI based interfaces. GUI interfaces were pretty but lacked the processing power of the transaction based AS400. Therefore companies began using client server based software. REJJ Technologies was right there building and maintaining GUI based applications with Microsoft’s Visual Basic. Visual Basic was used for GUI based front ends which accessed corporate data residing on server based DB2/400 databases on the AS400. RPG was used to process large batch jobs which crunched DB2/400 corporate data. Visual Basic was used to provide slick GUI interfaces. This client server architecture provided a pretty and modern interface. Corporate users loved it but IT staff soon realized the complexity in maintaining this multi-tier architecture. Software had to be distributed to each desktop computer every time the software was maintained. In addition different configurations of the desk top computers and operating system had to be accounted for when maintaining software. REJJ Technologies was right there building and maintaining ActiveX and COM based software. REJJ technologies began creating simple HTML based websites which we called brochure sites. This was in the mid 90’s. These brochure sites were the initial way companies established a digital web presence. Eventually businesses started realizing how nice it would be to integrate corporate database content with brochure sites. Microsoft provided a very easy and efficient way to this. The methodology was called Active Server Pages or simply ASP. REJJ Technologies was right there creating ASP based software using Visual Basic and a language that was easy for RPG AS400 programmers learn. The language was created by a third party company out of Texas called ASNA. The language was called Caviar or ASNA’s Visual RPG simply AVR. This technology served corporations well and was highly responsible for the boom of dynamic database Internet applications. One of the downfalls of ASP was the limited number of programming languages Microsoft provided and the lack of integration of languages. Therefore, Microsoft invented .NET. Microsoft’s .Net not only provides complete integration with numerous programming language it has an incredible library of objects used in building business applications. Microsoft’s .Net framework is simply the easiest fasted way to build dynamic data driven business applications. Microsoft’s .Net is RedGware’s preferred method for building software. Even though we highly praise .Net, RedGware

RedGware also builds software using Java. Java is unique in that it has an implementation for practically every known operating system including mobile devices. The idea behind Java is: code once, run anywhere. Java pretty-much delivers on that promise. That’s why RedGware has invested in this technology. Today RedGware is a full-fledged APP developer that produces custom Internet based business applications. We also provide contract and permanent IT Staff to help out with your software projects. In addition, RedGware offers subscription based Apps that can be used stand alone or as plugins to your existing website.
