In a world where AI, Canva, Figma, and related platforms are taking over, I am forever grateful to those who value us graphic designers. Our attention to detail, personable interaction, and experience is something that shouldn't be compared to these online platforms.

The second half of 2024 isn't what I expected when it came to work, but having freelance design experience and this avenue to fall back on has been a lifesaver. Collaborating with on this re-brand project is one for the books. From creating their logo to designing and building their brand guide, it was a project that I am proud of.

Here's to 2025, and hoping these freelance jobs keep coming. It's always a pleasure working with clients who need help with their brand.

Sometimes there's more meaning to a logo than you think.

Sarah has had a love for baking since she was young, as her mother, Robin used to also bake, but passed away a few years ago. Adding a robin bird to the logo was a must! Along with that request was also the idea of having pale blue and pink, greenery, and of course, baking graphics.

All these ideas came together to form Sarah's Custom Cakery's logo. How cute is this 🩵🩷

One of the many things I love about being a graphic designer is choosing fonts for each project. I could spend hours pairing fonts together and downloading new ones.

It's important that the typefaces you choose help tell the brands story, communicates the tone, and of course is easy to read.

Tip: Always remember - fonts that look nice in print, may not be good for web.

Starting off the week with one of my more recent projects.

Amy wanted an abstract "A" favicon with bold type. Something simple and incorporating one of her favorite colors, green.

As a marketing consultant, she wanted to merge her name, maiden name and married name into one. And boom, the AGREE Marketing name was created.

The official launch of my new logo! I wanted something more simple and bigger and bolder font styles, but also a delicate complimentary typeface. This is probably one of my favorite combos thus far.

And of course I love my florals, so adding a simple, feminine touch of the sprig was much needed to complete the design.
