Loved me some Paul Eells!

Broadcaster Paul Eells, dubbed the “Voice of the Razorbacks,” died in a car crash near Russellville (Pope County). Eells became the play-by-play announcer for the Razorbacks football team in 1978 and also served as the sports directors for KATV television in Little Rock. Throughout his career, he called many noteworthy moments in Razorback football history and was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
His signature calls—“Oh My,” usually when the Razorbacks made a big play, and “Touchdown Arkansas!” when the Arkansas team scored—came to be treasured by Arkansas fans. cals-

In a few days, Laurie and I will celebrate our 11th anniversary of the start of Netherton Promotions. We want to thank all our customers for letting us be involved with your expressions of gratitude to your customers and employees.
The biggest thank you, I have for this reflection of my past is my mentor Bill Pledger. Bill started Ad Ventures in 1979. Bill, a radioman and former voice of the UCA Bears, sold his radio station. One of the conditions of the sale was that Bill had to sign a non compete in radio for a year. Needing something to do, he thought he would dabble in the ad specialty market for a year or so and then go back into radio. That was not to be because he then made a career out of Ad Specialties and Promotions.
I was selling paper and chemicals before I met Bill and had a start-up company called Blue Diamond Apparel on the side. I preferred the apparel business over paper but needed more knowledge. I asked around and everyone said the most trusted guy in Conway doing this was Bill Pledger. I approached Bill about learning the business and he said cone on and thus my real start in the promotions business started.
Bill was an excellent teacher. I've been selling most of my adult life and have not met anyone that could do relationship selling any better than B Sharpe. In my almost six years in working with Bill, he never and this is a fact made a mistake on a purchase order. This would be as if you're a major league pitcher and you never gave up a walk in six years...
