I interrupt my regularly scheduled artistic work to slip in an example of other work I do as a graphic designer just because I like seeing these assets all together. I had the privilege of doing Mayor Allen Foster’s logos previously, and he contacted me this year for his campaign designs for various media. It was fun for me to consider the viewing of each piece and work through the technical set up for the various uses. It’s a pleasure to work with people as kind as he is, and I’m thrilled for his success.

For about a decade now I’ve been doing work as a graphic designer for teams and individuals who just need a reliable person who understands their brand and is ready to produce work on an as-needed basis. If that’s something you would benefit from, my email is [email protected]. I would love to chat.

A second piece for Fort Southwest Point State Historic Park to kick off the week.

Fort Southwest Point was strategically built at the confluence of the Tennessee and Clinch Rivers, so we knew a map design was in order.

This one is special because I pulled my map-loving husband in to draw the topographical lines and then took it from there. He did such a great job, and I’m thrilled to have been able to involve him in the piece! This design will be on shirts and stickers at the park.

My first piece for a State *Historic* Park and one I’m proud of…

Fort Southwest Point State Historic Park reached out looking for me to create an artwork that told the story of this place in an abstract way. I began how I always do: gathering information, researching, piecing together ideas, and then this one just hit me. I could write a whole chapter on it, but I’ll summarize it with this:

Fort Southwest Point served as a point of interaction between the Cherokee and the U.S. government. It is rich in history for these two people groups colliding, and I wanted to tell that story in my artwork. Every detail of the piece has a purpose—some are artifacts from archeological digs at the site while others are native plants used by the Cherokee. It was one of the coolest projects I’ve ever gotten to work on as I sorted through the artifacts, studied plants, and learned more about the history and geographical significance that makes this place so special.

The team at FSWP is very knowledgeable and passionate. I encourage you to stop by some time! This design along with one more will eventually be on shirts as they get things ready to open as one of TN’s newest state parks.

Stopped by Head of Sequatchie to pick up one of my new “Quilt Design” shirts the other day and got to see some other pieces in person for the first time. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to enjoy the day, this is your spot. Bring a book or a picnic lunch and set up by the water. 10/10 recommend. Enjoy the weekend, friends.

Some exciting things and some photos from a recent hike..

1. I am deep into some of my favorite projects I’ve ever worked on. We’re talking waist-deep in research on topics like bees, Cherokee culture, and pioneer-era forts. I can’t wait to share the pieces that come from this.

2. I am also still doing graphic design work as a partner for companies who need this service on a reliable, consistent basis. Therefore…

3. I’m splitting my business in two. Yepp, soon Withers Design will strictly become my “corporate graphic design” business and an entirely new name will be brought to the creative work. Long overdue. Many people don’t know I do both since all I share is the “fun” stuff these days. I look forward to sharing my vision for this in the near future.

4. I’m chasing these boys and trying to soak up every minute. There’s purpose in these exhausting days – when there’s been work and when there’s been silence – and it’s always been to show them their loving Creator by recognizing the wonder of creation.

Artwork found on *stickers* at North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Park – which is, as their amazing sign says, the Southern Gateway to the Cumberland Trail.

I did a series of stickers for the Cumberland Trail a couple years ago. (It’s probably about time to share those again.) They can be found at Head of Sequatchie!

I’ve been really into snails recently… what an odd thing to say. Here’s an artwork inspired by the small but extraordinary little mollusks and the mindset I intend to have this year. Slow and steady to reach our goals.. leaving a shiny trail behind us is a bonus.

I can’t think of a better way to end 2025 than with my boys on a hike.

As I wrap up this year, it’s mind-boggling to think about that I now have pieces in Cumberland Trail State Park, Cummins Falls State Park, North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Park, and Head of the Crow State Park. What a great honor that is in my heart.

I also reached 51 FIVE STAR reviews on my Etsy shop this year. Not a single one with less. You guys are so kind.

This year also brought new vision to my art. I’ve found my niche and am finally settling into my creative style – one inspired by the nature around me which has always been my grounding in life. It only took a lifetime of artistic endeavors and 7 years in business, but I finally know where I’m heading and believe I have a passion for the beauty around me for a purpose.

I continue to do my normal graphic design work and do have the bandwidth for a client looking for contract graphic design work in 2026.

I have some fun challenges for myself in the new year. Thank you for following along this year and supporting me. It truly means the world.
