Every few months a new wave of content shows up claiming AI has finally made developers optional. That anyone with a clear enough vision can now build whatever they need without a developer in the room.

We hear it. We also work with developers every day. So, on the latest episode of our Intentional AI series on the Discussing Stupid podcast, we stopped debating it and actually tested it.

We gave Claude, ChatGPT, and GenSpark the same prompt and asked each one to build a fully accessible web component from scratch. The results were more interesting than we expected, and not just because of what went wrong.

Here is what we kept coming back to after the test: the things that were broken were invisible if you did not already know what to look for. And that tells you something important about where AI actually fits in a development workflow right now, and who benefits most from these tools.

For the past few seasons, Discussing Stupid lived on its own website at discussingstupid.com. But the more we thought about it, the more it felt unnecessary to keep the podcast separate from the company that produces it.

The conversations on Discussing Stupid come directly from the same thinking that shapes our work at High Monkey. On the podcast, we call out common digital missteps and talk through better ways to approach them. At High Monkey, we help organizations solve those same problems in real projects.

So we brought everything together.
