Prayers for Jamaica 🇯🇲
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Jamaica as they face catastrophic Hurricane Melissa today.

Melissa has rapidly intensified into a Category 5 hurricane with sustained winds near 185 mph, gusts over 200 mph, and a minimum central pressure of 892 millibars—making it one of the most intense Atlantic hurricanes ever recorded and the strongest storm to strike Jamaica in modern history.

May the people of Jamaica find safety, strength, and protection through the hours ahead, and may recovery come swiftly once the storm passes. 💚💛🖤

Notice: Widespread AWS Outage Affecting Multiple Online Services Including some that do not host directly with AWS.

A major Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage early this morning caused widespread disruptions across the country, affecting many online tools and services — even those not hosted directly on AWS.

The incident began in AWS’s US-EAST-1 region, leading to temporary connection failures and slowdowns across platforms that rely on Amazon’s infrastructure. Service restoration began before 7 a.m. ET, and most systems are now stabilizing.

Layer One Networks’ systems remain operational. Some clients using AWS-hosted tools may have experienced intermittent issues, but core services and data backups are intact. Our team continues to monitor cloud stability as normal operations resume nationwide.

WHAT USERS CAN DO:
If you experienced issues interacting with our network this morning, here are a few tips:
1. Retry your request: After a cloud-provider outage is mitigated, residual latency or backlog may still cause intermittent issues.

2. Clear your browser cache: Sometimes cached DNS or API endpoint information may delay recovery for end-users.

3. Report issues: If you continue to face interruptions, please submit a support request or raise a ticket so we can assess whether the problem is systemic or isolated — response times may be longer than usual as we assist affected clients. https://lnkd.in/eA8RPit
