Get your poles ready kids!!!

☀️ BIG NEWS for our 1st Annual Washunga Days Kids' Fishing Derby, sponsored in part by the Kansas Wildscape Foundation! ☀️

Thanks to the generosity of Bass Pro Shops and Phil Taunton of Whats In Outdoors, we're adding an exciting surprise to this year's event...

🎣40 FREE fishing poles will be given away to participating kids!🎣

Here's how it works : When young anglers arrive at the Neosho Riverwalk on Saturday, June 20th, they'll have the opportunity to visit our informational tables, learn a little about fishing, safety, and the outdoors. Along the way, they will have their passports filled out at each table. The first 40 kids to have their passports filled out and turned in will get a fishing pole, absolutely FREE!

The Fishing Derby is open to kids 15 & under from 11:00am–2:00pm. Just bring your own rod & bait, register when you arrive, and spend the afternoon catching, recording, and releasing fish along the beautiful Neosho River.

🏆 Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place!

This is just one more reason to bring the family to Washunga Days 2026!
