The concept behind The Very Sad Blueberry book is to visually show children that it is okay to be who you are. To accomplish this concept, I create watercolor paintings of a blueberry that is sad that he is the color blue while all his friends are all colorful. A kid-friendly font is used to draw the viewer in. The audience is young children ages 2-6 and adults/parents who are looking for a book to help children to be comfortable with who they are. The color scheme is kept mostly analogous of purples, blues, and greens to keep with the blue theme in the book.
