They wanted something clean & contemporary that would better represent their brand. We re-wrote all the copy, reworked the site map, built new product & solution pages, and added a portfolio to capture visitors' attention and drive leads. Unlike a landing page, a homepage should be designed to serve different audiences arriving from multiple origins in different sales funnel stages. Here are 6 critical elements that every homepage needs:

1. A clear headline that immediately tells visitors what you offer using only a few words. Keep it simple! Use a sub-headline to communicate a little more about what you offer & the pain points your company alleviates.

2. Meaningful images, graphics, or videos that visually communicate what it is you do. Skip the cheesy stock photos!

3. Easy navigation to help visitors find their way into your site & decrease bounce rate. Use a sticky menu that stays put even as visitors scroll your homepage. If possible, also include a search function.

4. The benefits you provide — not just what you do but why it matters to the visitor. Keep it concise & compelling & avoid jargon.

5. Social proof, like testimonials or case studies, that demonstrate you are trustworthy & effective.

6. Calls-to-action to move further down the funnel. Add primary calls-to-action above the fold & secondary calls-to-action further down the page.

When Foundation Structure & Repair Group first contacted us they were using a pre-fab Google website. It was ok for displaying business hours, contact info, and other basic info but it was falling short in generating leads and showcasing their expertise. They were staying busy with word of mouth but knew online leads could help them fuel business growth.

We built them a custom site with interactive graphics to educate their website visitors on common foundation problems and the type of detailed work FSRG does to fix them.

Once the website project was complete, we moved into a full-service marketing campaign to generate more online leads. We turned PPC and SEO into the primary drivers for online leads, whereas paid listings on Angi were previously their primary source. This strategy led to higher quality leads and a considerable reduction in monthly spending.

Looks matter — at least when it comes to websites.

You have about half a second to make a good impression before visitors make a snap judgment to either stay on your site or head to your competitor's.

We often hear "my website doesn't need to be fancy." It might not need to be fancy, but it absolutely needs to be visually appealing.

We also hear "but my website gets leads so it's fine." But consider the leads you're missing out on from the traffic that's quickly leaving for a better-designed site.

Get in front of more people in your area with these four local SEO tactics.

1. Ensure your local listings are accurate and up-to-date. This includes your current address, phone number, business hours, etc.

2. Have a strategy in place for consistently receiving positive online reviews. This might look like texting or emailing a review request once a service is complete.

3. Include keywords on your website that you want to rank for in your area. This might look like "Cincinnati drywaller" or "Indianapolis florist".

4. Focus on link-building from other trustworthy sources. Quality over quantity!
