Current operating systems do a good job of operating effeciently without having to be shut down everyday. It is still however a good idea to properly and completely shut down your computer periodically. To shutdown Windows 11, click the Windows Start button, click the Power icon then click Shut down.

If you have Microsoft Word, you have the tools and you just need to know how to use them. Microsoft offers online tutorials to take you from the basics to the advanced. (You will need to use Microsoft Edge to view the videos that are included in some of the tutorials)

The “Microsoft Warning Alert” pictured below is a scam. It is designed to scare you into calling one of the listed numbers in order to receive support. If you call these scammers, they will offer fake solutions for your “problems” and ask for payment. Often, they will remotely take over your computer and install software that will allow future unauthorized access onto your PC. If this warning pops up simply turn off your computer by holding in the power button until it shuts down. When you turn your computer back on and go online, make sure that your browser does not try to redirect you. If you are unable to get rid of the warning by forcing the unit off or you do not feel confident that your PC is okay, take it to a trusted, local computer repair service center.
