The best description I can give you is that it was a happy accident. See, the original plan was for me to get a remote position so that I would be able to generate an income while caring for my elderly father and aunt in our new home (that process is a story all its own :-). Reality (along with God) laughed at me. I knew I had the skills but not the heart to work for a company that would not allow

me to balance my work/life schedule. So I started to think, what skills do I possess that I could share with others and make a living? Turns out, my answer had been staring me in the face for years. I was a self-taught website and eCommerce site builder for myself as well as my employer, but then, what I thought at the time, disaster struck. I was laid off due to the pandemic. So, lemons to lemonade, I took the opportunity to take a course on web development so that I could add the course certificate to my resume, and POW! I fell in love with the experience (ok, maybe not with Javascript, what I like to call the necessary evil :-) I found myself truly passionate about building something functional yet creative that will benefit others. Being able to create or utilize inspiring graphics or images, and design smooth workflows while contributing to another's business success, is quite rewarding.
