Allband Communications Cooperative

Allband Communications Cooperative HIGH-SPEED
FIBER INTERNET UP TO 400MBPS High-speed Internet and telephone fiber to the home provider located in rural NORTHEAST, Michigan.

Allband was conceived by president John M. Reigle in the late 1990's when he built a home near Curran, Michigan and was unable to obtain a telephone to run his home-based business. He soon found that residents in this remote and isolated area has actually died from heart attacks, car wrecks, chainsaw accidents and lost homes in fires due to the lack of access to 911 services. These tragedies promp

ted his interest in starting a Telephone Cooperative. Allband is the first telephone cooperative in the state of Michigan. Allband's ultimate goal is not only to provide a robust network that overtime will improve the quality of life, and the economic, educational and health care opportunities for residents in Northeast Michigan. Allband was incorporated as a non-profit cooperative to provide telecommunications services to previously unserved areas in Michigan. Allband's objective is to serve the public interest by bringing telecommunications services to its members/customers into these unserved areas. On November 5, 2003, with encouragement and assistance from Michigan State University, various non-profit groups and the Michigan Senate and House Representatives, customers in the unserved area decided to incorporate Allband as a non-profit cooperative. Until Allband turned-up service on November 30, 2006, the Robbs Creek exchange was not served by an ILEC, even though it was surrounded by exchanges belonging to Verizon. Due to the low population density (less than 1.6 access lines per sq. mile) and lack of commercial investment, the Robbs Creek area was ultimately ignored by Verizon... and telecommunications services were denied to residents requesting them.

WORK: TRUNK UPGRADE

To better serve you, Allband will be performing maintenance on our core network the morning of 4/29/2026, beginning at 12:00 AM and ending at 3:00 AM.

We are upgrading a trunk with a partner carrier to increase capacity. This maintenance is part of our ongoing effort to upgrade our core network and fiber-to-the-home platform with next-gen technology. We want your experience to be fast, reliable and secure!

While we have reserved the entire window to complete the work, we do not anticipate that the maintenance will take more than 1 hour and as always, we will do our best to minimize loss of service during the maintenance.

If your service is lost, it should restore automatically once the maintenance is complete. However, if your service is not working afterward, please restart your router by unplugging it from power and plugging it back in. If the issue persists, please call us at 989-369-9999 for troubleshooting assistance or email us at [email protected].

We do try to monitor Facebook messages and comments during the maintenance, but our response time may be delayed while work is underway.

Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to provide urban speeds between the trees!

We are so proud of these kids!

Yesterday, I had the privilege of presenting the Fairview Area Schools Science Olympiad Team with a check to help them with travel, lodging, food and other expenses associated with their State Finals competition at MSU later this year.

The attitude, drive and dedication of both the students and staff are incredible. It brings us great joy that we can help.

Good luck, we are rooting for you!
