💡 How to Speed Up a Slow Computer – 3 Quick Fixes Anyone Can Try

Before you toss your laptop or call it a lost cause, try these 3 simple tricks that could breathe life back into your slow computer:

1. Disable Startup Programs
Too many apps launching at startup = instant slowdown.
🔹 On Windows: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc → Go to “Startup” tab → Disable anything you don’t need.
🔹 On Mac: System Settings → General → Login Items.

2. Clear Out Temporary Files
Junk files clog up space and memory.
🔹 On Windows: Use “Disk Cleanup” or type %temp% in Run (Windows+R) and delete everything.
🔹 On Mac: Use “Go to Folder” → ~/Library/Caches and delete cache contents (be careful not to touch system folders).

3. Uninstall Programs You Don’t Use
Old software takes up space and slows things down.
Go through your apps and remove anything you don’t recognize or haven’t used in months.

Still running slow? Might be a deeper issue - failing hard drive, bad RAM, or malware.
