I always encourage churches to think about their websites from the perspective of someone visiting for the very first time.

Can they easily find what they’re looking for?

Here are 7 things I recommend every church website include:

1. Service times and location
2. First-time visitor information
3. Online giving
4. Sermons and livestreams
5. Events and ministries
6. Mobile-friendly design
7. Local SEO and updated information

Your church website should do more than keep members informed. It should also help new people learn about your ministry and feel comfortable taking that first step to visit.

Is ChatGPT replacing graphic designers?

She had a mission, a Zelle link, and a flyer.

Most business owners spend their time fixing the wrong things.

They obsess over:

Meanwhile, the real problems go untouched.

A website doesn’t generate leads because it has the perfect shade of pink.

It generates leads because:

✔ Visitors understand what you do
✔ They trust you
✔ Your message is clear
✔ Your offer is compelling
✔ They know exactly what to do next

I’ve seen businesses spend thousands redesigning their websites only to end up with the same results because they never fixed the strategy behind it.

Before you invest in another redesign, ask yourself:

Does my website clearly explain what I do?
Does it build trust?
Does it guide visitors toward taking action?

If not, that’s where I’d start.

One of the most common flyer mistakes I see? Text that’s way too small to read on a phone.

And here’s the thing — nobody’s going to zoom in. They’re just going to keep scrolling.

Your flyer has maybe 2 seconds to communicate. If the important details are buried in tiny print, you’ve already lost them.

I see this mistake on flyers every single week.

The text is so small you need a magnifying glass just to find the date and time. And if your audience has to work that hard to read it — they won’t show up.

Your flyer has one job. Communicate fast. Especially on a phone screen where everything is already smaller.

Rule of thumb: if you have to squint to read it, it’s too small. Make the important information bigger. Date, time, location — those need to be the first things people see.
