🌈 Honored to illustrate this 8’x8’ backdrop for the to appear at the Pride Block Party celebration!

Commissioned in partnership with , the design features iconic landmarks from the Dallas Arts District, Oak Lawn’s rainbow crosswalks, and nods to Texas roots with bluebonnets and yellow roses.

Major love to for connecting me with Heather Fittz—y’all gave me a chance to reconnect with my artist self.

From a high school art nerd in Oklahoma to a proud “OK-Texan” who majored in graphic design at the Art Institute of Dallas… this moment feels full circle.

🌈 Dallas Loves You — And So Do I 🌈

I’m beyond thrilled to share this 8’ x 8’ digitally illustrated photo op backdrop, commissioned by the Museum of Art in celebration of Pride Month! The project was brought to life with art direction and collaboration from the incredible team at Branding & Marketing. Huge thanks to Compton-Kelly for connecting me with Heather Fittz —I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity.

The creative brief called for something that captured the spirit of Dallas and its love for the LGBTQ+ community. What better way to do that than featuring the iconic landmarks of the Dallas Arts District—including the Museum of Art, Sculpture Center, and Museum of Asian Art—paired with a vibrant tribute to Lawn/Cedar Springs (The Strip, The Gayborhood), complete with its unmistakable rainbow crosswalks.

To ground the piece in Texas pride, I included bluebonnets and yellow roses, our state flower—symbols of resilience, beauty, and home.

But this project was especially meaningful because the team was seeking a local LGBTQ+ artist. I haven’t thought of myself as an "artist" in a while—these days, I serve as the Marketing & Operations Manager at Hope Charities, supporting LGBTQ+ youth experiencing housing insecurity. Yet creating this reminded me of my roots.

💭 My journey as an artist began long before Adobe Illustrator. In junior high, I took a graphic arts class that planted the seed. But it was Mr. Johnson, my high school art teacher, who truly changed my life. He brought a representative from the Institute of Dallas to our AP Art class, and that visit set the course for everything that followed. That single moment sparked the decision to move to Texas, major in graphic design, and ultimately become what I affectionately call an “OK-Texan.”

In high school, I was the art nerd—always experimenting with pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, pastels, and mixed media (yes, even corrugated cardboard!). Back then, I never imagined I’d create a large-scale public art piece that celebrates q***r love and community in a city I now call home.

✨ And here's the full-circle moment: years ago, I applied to work at the Dallas Museum of Art. Now, my art will be featured there for Pride Month. Life has a way of guiding us exactly where we need to be.

You can find this backdrop on display at the Dallas Museum of Art during the Dallas Arts District Pride Block Party on June 20. If you visit, snap a photo and tag me—I’d love to see how this piece is received by the community it was made for.

💛💙💜💚🧡❤️ Dallas Loves You. And I do too. Happy Pride, y’all.

🥜 My first opportunity to design packaging recently & I can't wait to see the final printed packaging!

Pea's Peanut Butter Dog Treats reached out with the need to elevate their product packaging for their 3 most popular 5oz treats.

The design brief required a feminine tone with an emphasis on the organic , home-baked treats that cater to their customers that prefer to .

If you have a design need, let me know the dreams you have for your . Let's make them a reality!

S01 | The original flavor highlights the pink that is a part of the client's .

S02 | The ’s yellow helps differentiate itself from the original & spinach options. When picking a yellow it needed to visually complement the other options because they will all be displayed together at the occasional local pop-ups like Lockwood Distilling Co.

S03 | The green helps differentiate itself from the original & chickpea options. Like the yellow, the green needed to work well with the other options because they are regularly at the Dallas Farmers Market.

S04 | The branding previously used included a simple logoed label on the front & an ingredients label on the back.

S05 Top | The call-to-action is included on all sides of ea. package & highlights that there are multiple options. The word "Flavorite" refers to the consumer's furr family members favorite flavor of dog treats.

S05 Bottom Left | The faux kraft paper lends to the local , while each flavor has a watermark pattern to help indicate the type of treats. The headline font imitates the thick, richness of with a handwritten aesthetic.

S05 Middle Right | QR codes were revitalized during the pandemic. When you’re getting low on treats, this allows you to order more right away!

S05 Bottom Right | Every printable real estate is crucial for making a sale. Few look on the bottom, but the final consumer - your furr family members - will always see the bottom! This encourages them to sit for a treat & tells you how to buy more.
