The new Wilson @ JS Audio - (one of the only places in the world you can hear them)- It’s as perfect of music as I’ve ever experienced in my life. The soundstage was immaculate! The artists were literally and I mean LITERALLY right there in front of you, as if on stage, having every aspect of their being presented in real life, every molecule and atom was present and suspended in space. I know we say that type of stuff about our systems and other systems we’ve heard, but I’ve never heard it on that level before. That was the first time in my life I had goosebumps covering my entire body and the internal pressure of emotion pushing outwards was so intense it was almost anxiety producing. It was as if there was an internal ball of energy inside my core that was energized and expanding, trying to escape my skin! The energy pushed outward on the inside of my skin, trying to escape as every hair on my body was being pushed straight out, and each hair only able to release a portion of the pressure as it flows through them. My head, chest and arms almost began to ring as the pressure increased. It’s was transcending…I know we say we get these types of experiences, but I can assure you, NOT LIKE THAT!! I can totally see why people would spend that money if they had it. I know I would. Thanks Josh !!!! You’ve shifted my entire view of music reproduction.

When thousands of audiophiles were asked to name the greatest speakers ever made, the Klipschorn, first released in 1946, topped the list and it wasn't particularly close. In fact, Klipsch as a brand dominated the entire poll.

Paul Klipsch designed the Klipschorns with a simple but clever idea. Instead of fighting the room, use it. The Klipschorn fires its folded bass horn directly into the corner walls, turning the room itself into an extension of the speaker. That gives it a sensitivity of 105 dB, meaning it can fill a large space with just a handful of watts from a tube amp.

The current model, the AK7, still follows that original vision with some modern driver upgrades added.

But the real surprises come further down the rankings. Vintage budget speakers that originally sold for under $100 landed alongside systems that cost more than most cars, and a few picks on this list will catch even longtime audiophiles off guard.
