From an empty space to concrete trenching, framing, walls, ceilings, cabinetry, and dental equipment, we’ve had the opportunity to watch Goodshine Dental transform from a set of plans into an absolutely stunning dental practice.

And now… we’re in the home stretch! 🚀

Windows Server 2016 End of Support: January 12, 2027

If your dental practice is still running Windows Server 2016, now is the time to start planning. While your server won’t suddenly stop working on January 12, 2027, Microsoft will officially end support. That means no more security updates, bug fixes, or technical support, leaving your practice at greater risk over time.

Here are three things every dental practice should do today:

1️⃣ Verify Your Server
Do you know what server your practice is running? Many dental offices are surprised to learn they’re still using Windows Server 2016.

2️⃣ Understand the Risks
After support ends, your server will no longer receive security updates. This can increase cybersecurity risks, create software compatibility issues, and make it more difficult to maintain a secure and reliable technology environment.

3️⃣ Build a Transition Plan
Don’t wait until the last minute. Review your current hardware, verify compatibility with your practice management and imaging software, confirm your backups are working properly, and create a migration plan well before the end-of-support date.

1. Choose the Right Practice Management & Imaging Software
Your practice management software becomes the backbone of your office. Before purchasing computers or servers, decide which platform you’ll use (Open Dental, Dentrix, Curve, Eaglesoft, etc.) and confirm all hardware meets the software’s recommended specifications.

2. Build Your Network for Growth
Don’t cut corners on your network infrastructure. Invest in business-grade networking equipment, CAT6 cabling, strong Wi-Fi coverage, and a secure firewall. A solid network will support your operatories, digital imaging, scanners, VoIP phones, and future expansion.

3. Protect Your Practice From Day One
Cybersecurity isn’t something to add later. Every new practice should launch with:
