Version 2026-3QA is now on the website. These notifications have been paused since last October due to the influx of new Pawnmaster customers.
Major features added since our last update post:
Firearm Returns: When a firearm is returned and it had left the building, the ATF require logging it as a new A & D entry. In the past our users have bought the gun back at cost and done an expense refund for the profit and tax. Now you can choose whether or not the firearm left the building on the void or line item return screen. If you choose that the gun left the building, the old disposition is saved in your A & D book and a new copy of the gun is added showing acquisition from the sold to customer. The voided sale or line item return now handles the refund accounting properly.
Multiple Layaway Payments: The layaway payment screen now lets you apply payments against several tickets and process them all at the same time. This also handles doing an e4473 for all the guns being disposed across those tickets.
Layaway Item Swap: You can now swap an item on a layaway for any other item in inventory. The swapped item will then appear on the layaway at the same retail price as the old item. This is especially useful for gun orders where you haven't received the firearm into your A & D book yet. Just create the layaway, add a non-inventory item like "Special Order # # # #", add the retail price of the ordered gun and when you actually receive the firearm from the shipping FFL just swap it. If the item you originally added to the layaway was a non-inventory item, it is deleted after the swap.
Gold Price Lookup: The issue with precious metal quotes not working anytime Kitco changed their website has been solved. Precious metal prices should continue working now even after Kitco publishes a new design.
Label Printing: Problems with labels clipping or printing the wrong orientation or not fitting properly on your label stock have been eliminated. New label printing options will use your printer driver settings for size and orientation.
QuickBooks Integration: You can now create configurations for any transaction types you want sent to QuickBooks each day. The daily cash report has a new button labeled QuickBooks that will export a data file of that day's activity which can then be imported into QuickBooks to update the desired accounts for that activity.
UPC Codes: UPC codes can be sold using the exact same method used with bucket items and an option has been added where a sales or layaway receipt will show the quantity of the item when multiples are sold.
Accounting Reports: A complete overhaul of our cash report system with a new "Modern" layout option. The old style reporting can still be used by changing your preference to "Classic". The updated accounting reports are organized by transaction type with new highlighted sub-totals and totals that make reading and understanding the metrics much clearer.
Vendor Tax Remit: This allows you to specify that a vendor account is an entity where you may need to collect tax at a different rate or at many different rates and track the liability separately from normal sales tax done at your store. For example you can add a vendor account for Gun Broker and flag them as a vendor tax remit account. Then when doing a sale you can select Gun Broker as a vendor tax account and enter the tax amount, order number, tax zone and even the name of the customer who is actually buying the gun. This then appears on the receipt as a vendor tax remit amount just like sales tax. This can also be used when doing sales in another county at a different sales tax rate like when doing a gun show. Just add the county name as a vendor customer and check the tax remit checkbox. A new Vendor Tax Liability report has been added that itemizes the amount you owe to each account just like normal sales tax liability.
Scanshell ID Scanners: Your Scanshell can now be used with multiple copies of Hi-Tech running on the same machine. This requires a change to the device settings on each machine, call for assistance with this.
Secugen Fingerprint Scanners: You can now use any model of Secugen scanner with our software. Before you were limited to only 2 of their older products.
