Intelligent Design Solutions (IDS) is pleased to partner with Buell Motorcycles on the Super Cruiser, providing the ECM (Engine Control Module), associated engineering services, and aftermarket support. The American-made ECM has over 300 individual components sourced from dozens of suppliers. The custom ECM Printed Circuit Boards are produced by Miltec Circuits (https://2miltec.com/) in Leo, IN, with Surface Mount Assembly services through NextGen Electronics in Huntington, IN. Our team assembles and tests each ECM here at IDS, ensuring that each one meets the highest quality standards before delivering them to Buell Motorcycles (sometimes by air with N177JR!).

These are the same brand-new ECMs will be available direct to our aftermarket customers beginning Q1 2026! The long wait for new replacement ECMs for 2008 and later model Buell and EBR motorcycles is just about over...thanks for your patience as we tooled new connectors, acquired obsolete components, and started our own production line to keep your Buell / EBR on the road!

The Super Cruiser has plenty of power, excellent handling, and very good cornering ability, especially for a cruiser! Our DVCS-1 ECM provides complete engine management for optimal performance, as well as innovative integrated traction control and wheelie control. The Super Cruiser meets tailpipe emissions and pass-by noise requirements in all 50 states. This is a really fun bike to ride! We congratulate Buell Motorcycles on a job well done with their first real from-scratch design since purchasing Erik Buell Racing in 2015.

IDS plans to develop and offer ECM Performance Upgrades for the Super Cruiser in partnership with Buell Motorcycles and their aftermarket exhaust suppliers. It's time to blow the dust off of our Dynojet 150 and put it to good use. Stay tuned!

Great news clip from 1995 celebrating the 1000th Buell motorcycle. IDS was established in 2006, and some of our team members had worked with Buell on ignition and fuel injection systems well before that at Magnavox/Phillips/VDO/Kimball in Auburn, IN. Tim began developing EFI systems for Buell in 1997, and the first DDFI system was introduced on the 1999 model year Buell X1 and S3.

10 years and over 130,000 bikes later, Harley-Davidson, then the majority shareholder, shut down Buell, and Erik started over with Erik Buell Racing.
