What you should have or begin purchasing for your work from home transition!

While you should already have your desktop computer, you should also consider getting at minimum 1 additional monitor.

Multiple monitors can assist you with becoming proficient with your clients and/or make navigating a clients system easier, especially when you have multiple systems to access.

Items that are useful to have and provide extra benefits for work and home!

1. Printer - w/paper refills and ink refills (black is most used).

2. Shredder - you will need to properly dispose of any work related information that is confidential and a shredder can be used to maintain the safety of your own personal information. (cross shredder recommend)

3. Lock for your office (room/other) - any lock will work as long as it has a key, I prefer a deadbolt lock but it's not necessary.

4. USB head phones with microphone - although you can call into training with you work phone, this is a requirement and is beneficial with some clients as we are transitioning to VoIP calls. It's great to already have this on hand.

5. USB thumb driver/jump drive/flash drive - required for some clients but great to have when you need to save pictures, documents, etc off-line and allow them to be transported safely.

6. Wired keyboard and mouse - even if you prefer wireless, some clients require wired and their systems may not function properly with a wireless device.

I hope this helps with your transition. Comment below to add to the list, sharing is caring after all 😁.

Making the transition to from EMPLOYEE to INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR:

The first thing you need to consider is, if this is the right step for you.

1. Are you a self starter, are you driven?
2. Do you have a space convenient to work out of such as a bedroom, office, or converted garage, etc.?
3. If you have children, small ones specifically, how will you balance your work life?;

Working from home means it is easy to slip into bad habits, especially surrounding your child or children. It is so easy to schedule work or pick up hours to work because you do work from home and with Enjoy the Dream LLC you have a flexible schedule that allows for any changes that may come about.

4. Do you have the necessary equipment to get started such as a Desktop/Laptop computer with the latest updates and/or software, internet with speeds capable of preforming any tasks and if you are going to be a call center representative, do you have a phone line with a call center phone?

If you do not have these things, can you obtain them in order to start.

And the final question you must ask yourself when considering the transition.

5. Are you ready to invest into this future?

As an employee your employer would pay for all the equipment necessary to fulfill your duties and take care of any technical issues that may come up, but as an independent contractor you would be responsible for up to 90% of what your employer what normally do for you.

Last but certainly not least, when you have technical issues, as an employee you still get paid for the time that you are unable to work, however, as an independent contractor you do not. You will have to make sure to have balance for the outages/tech issues that happen, though infrequent, they are a part of contract work.

How do Arise IBOs set their pay rate?

Recently, we were accused of "ripping people off" under one of our job posts (https://bit.ly/2VrPMeH). So we want to be as transparent as possible to show that we are not here to "rip you off" or "scam" anyone.

For starters, Arise independent business owners or IBOs are comparable to staffing agencies. Arise provides IBOs such as Enjoy the Dream, LLC with a database of companies who are looking for people to work from home. IBOs then connect agents with those companies. In other words Clients pay Arise to be in their database, Arise pays IBOs to find agents to work for these companies, and IBOs pay the agents.

So exactly how do IBOs determine the pay rate for clients? IBOs have to make a profit and they do this through fees that are taken out of the pay rate that Arise gives us per client per agent. This can be done any number of ways. IBOs can charge a flat fee that is taken out of your pay per interval, per month, and/or per pay cycle or they can take a percentage of your salary each pay cycle (most common being 10%). They can also choose not to pay pay increases nor bonuses that can be earned. These are by far not the only ways, but the most common.

How is pay determined? Arise sets the base pay for all of it’s clients. IBOs do not influence this rate and it is the same for all IBOs across the board. From this base rate, IBOs decide how they deduct their fees (with the exception of the Arise platform fee that is set by and taken out automatically by Arise). Because of this, the pay rate for the same client can vary greatly between IBOs. This is the same for bonuses and pay increases. IBOs can decide whether or not bonuses and pay increases given by clients for agents doing quality work will go to the agent or stay with the IBO.

The way that Enjoy the Dream has chosen to do it’s fees is a flat fee per interval. This fee will never exceed more than fifty-cents and is automatically applied to the hourly rate. We also pass bonuses and pay increases from clients directly to our agents and offer additional ways to get bonuses (paid for by us) just by adhering to your commitments and keeping your quality high. By doing it this way, we have managed to have some of the lowest fees and highest pay.

Example:
*based on a 40 hr work week and bi-monthly pay cycle
**Intervals are 30 mins. 2 intervals equal an hour.
(updated to per hour for readability)

Client A pays a base of $12/hr with an increase to $14/hr for star agents

IBO A: Sets the pay at $10/hr and charges an additional $25 fee per pay period, but gives the $2 increase to star agents but no bonuses.
Agent actually "paid" the IBO per pay period: $185 plus bonuses

IBO B: Sets the pay at $12/hr and charges $75 per pay period and keeps any pay increase and bonuses.
Agent actually "paid" the IBO per pay period: $75 base/$235 for star agents plus bonuses

IBO C: Sets pay at $12/hr, gives increase, but not bonuses and takes 10% of pay.
Agent actually "paid" IBO per pay period: $96/$112 for star agents plus bonuses.

Enjoy the Dream: Sets the pay at $11/hr gives the pay increase and bonuses.
Agent actually "paid" IBO per pay period: $80

We are not here to get rich off our agents and we want to help them reach their financial goals.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

We strive to be very transparent. If you have suggestions on how we can do so, please let us know.
