Update: I installed the Windows Preview Update KB5064081 and have not been able to reproduce any storage related issues. I installed a game of 80+ GB, transferred a compressed folder of 105GB to and from the from my previously affected drive, and ran a stress test with 3D Mark. I could not reproduce the issues i had earlier.
My drive in question is a Corsair MP600 Core XT using the Phison E21T controller, a controller known to be affected by the Windows update KB5063878.
If you are not sure what controller your drive uses, and you are having issues please call me and I can set up a time for you to come by and I’ll take a look.

If you are running Windows 11, the latest update is causing problems with some storage devices (hard drives). I’m installing a preview update made available today and will test for stability. If I think it is safe I will recommend that people use the preview update in hopes of reducing risk of hardware failure.
Updates will follow.
The update preview is KB5064081
The update causing problems is KB5063878
You can use (Win-Key + i ) to open settings, go to Windows Update, and Update History, the top of the list will be the last update you installed
