Today I took an hour and created this memorial design for 9/11. I did not understand the impact of this event on this day years ago when I was in third grade, but I remember the silence that fell in that classroom. I remember a classmate frantic because her parents were in that area on that day. I remember crying but not really understanding why. I've learned over the years as I got older exactly what that day was and what that meant. It is something that I will never forget. Many gave their lives that day years ago. We stood together as a nation out of the rubble.

Today's color palette of the day is brought to you by the nature walk at the Lost Nation Park. I could not resist this shot of the sun shining through those tall trees on the nature trail a couple weeks ago. There is such a variety of shades and tints of colors throughout this trail.
