We've recently received several computers that fell victim to a scam, and we want to share this information to help you avoid similar issues.

You may see a notification stating that your McAfee Antivirus has expired and that you need to renew it. If you click the link to renew, scammers can capture your credit card information and/or gain control of your computer, potentially accessing your bank account.

If you have encountered this situation, please check your bank account for any unfamiliar charges and contact us to scan your computer.

We have received numberous calls from customers who are getting a McAfee subscription expiration notice. DO NOT click that notice to renew your subscription. In many cases the person doesn't even have McAfee at all. Bad actors are using this to get your banking info to steal from your account.

The Microsoft support scam is hitting again. Do not call that number, it is NOT Microsoft. If you get a screen that says you have viruses call us. 765-564-3962.

A new customer contacted us and said she needed her laptop screen replaced. She had it replaced once before and it's doing the same thing she said. Instead of just ordering a screen we did basic troubleshooting to determine the screen was fine.

Turns out the previous company didn't install the screen properly. We were able to reattach the cable and properly secure it. Saved this customer the cost of a screen!

Also, keep in mind that a lot of the posts that seem like fun such as "What was your first car" "What was your high school Mascot" "What is your favorite color" are all questions to get information to hack your password.

Just one more reason SandoaTech is a cut above the rest...

New customer took their laptop to Best Buy where they're going to school because it wasn't charging. Best Buy told them they needed a new laptop even though it's only two years old.

We took the cover off to actually inspect the laptop properly. Did basic troubleshooting steps and voila it begins charging properly.

We have had to tell customers it's time for a new computer before but not until ALL efforts to save the old one have been exhausted.
