Update 4/9/24 5pm MST

Well that was a wild ride!

We had planned to move the zimbra environment to CarbonLogic's Tier 3 datacenter later this year and it would require about a day of downtime to do it. This is why we've been putting it off for the last three years. Well, we had our hand forced yesterday and we took advantage of the downtime to complete the migration. Indra is now 100% CarbonLogic powered with plans for upgraded services on our OWN hardware, networks and datacenter.

Good news is all of your inbound mail was queued up for the last day and has been unspooling into our servers since we went live early this morning. We just processed the last batch of 10,000 queued mail items and the queues are now at zero. Mail from yesterday will still trickle in over the next 24 hours or so but the vast majority has been delivered.

We have good news, we've completed the migration of the entire mail environment to CarbonLogic's datacenter on new servers. We're still dialing in the network and server settings but IMAP is working and mail is slowly flowing in from yesterday. We're throttling mail at the moment for testing but around NOON we will let all mail through. You may receive send errors before NOON as well while we complete testing. Thanks for your patience!

Hi folks, power was finally restored but when things came back up the Earthnet mailserver hardware is now having issues due to the abrupt power cut. We're actively working to restore this server to CarbonLogic's datacenter in the next 24 hours as they dont have an ETA yet.

Earthnet is DOWN! Xcel still has power cut to Louisville and the datacenter just ran out of fuel. New fuel trucks are on the way so they can power up the generator. Power was supposed to be restored yesterday at noon but has not yet turned it on. No need to call in to Indra we are aware and will update this page and the website once power has been restored.

This outage only affects email customers as all DNS and Web Hosting were moved to CarbonLogic's datacenter in 2021.

Update 9:30am - Still waiting on fuel truck.

Update 11:00pm - We're restoring a backup of the mailservers to our CarbonLogic datacenter and will be working through the night. Our goal is to have all services restored by 9:00am tomorrow morning, with no loss of email.

Mail Server Maintenance Notice

Tonight at 7pm MST we will be patching Zimbra to the latest version and Mail services may be down for 10 minutes or so. We're patching our zimbra servers within a few days of patch releases to stay as secure as possible.

Dear Indra email customers,
Some users are reporting issues when using email clients (Outlook, Thunderbird, & Macmail) to connect to their email accounts.

We are looking into the issue now and should have a solution shortly. If you are experiencing any issues with your email client today, please use the webmail interface in the interim.

You can access webmail using this link: webmail.indra.com , or by clicking on the “webmail” option on the top right of our website.

When it was founded in 1994, Indra’s Net was but a young and scrappy dial up internet provider on the forefront of a new horizon, and with the support of people like you, we’ve evolved in many ways in our pursuit of providing the best and most secure internet services. But change is inevitable and the time is right to turn the reins of Indra’s Net services over to a new partner who will provide the same excellent service that you expect.

On August 3rd 2020, Indra’s Net will join another Boulder, Colorado company: CarbonLogic. We have worked closely with them for many years, and we couldn’t be more excited about this next step.


What does this mean for you?

The services that you receive from Indra’s Net will be unaffected by this transition. Your email and web hosting services will not change. You may see cosmetic differences on your bill, such as Carbon Logic’s name where you would expect to see Indra’s Net.

While we are excited for the next phase, this moment is bittersweet. We want to honestly express our appreciation to each and every one of you who has been with us for so many years. It is with absolute sincerity that we would all like to say how much we have valued working with each of you, and for your continued patience and trust as we’ve grown. We recognize that you are supporting local businesses, and for that we are humbled that you’ve chosen us time and time again. We hope that you continue this support at a local level, especially in these trying times.

Please be aware that we are planning on experiencing a short downtime this Friday (8/9) from 7pm to 8pm.

Due to a manufacturing defect, we are required to have a Dell technician service and replace one of our machines.

Due to the nature of the repair, we are unable to perform this action late at night.

All services, including email and webhosting, will be temporarily unavailable.

We highly recommend not attempting to use your email during this window. If you experience pop-ups in your email client, feel free to ignore them. After the services resume, simply restart your client and/or your computer to begin using your email again.

If you continue to experience issues, remember that the webmail service is a valid fallback plan.

As part of our continued effort to provide you with the best service, we are planning on making some upgrades to our mail server. These upgrades will help with speed and reliability of your email going forward.
To accomplish this upgrade, we will need to take the mailserver offline for a brief period of time.

We are planning on having the downtime be later today, Sunday, April 28th, from 7pm untill about 11pm.

During this window, you will not be able to use your email. Opening an email client may result in an error message, which should be disregarded. Access via the webmail portal will also be unavailable.

The service will resume promptly after the upgrade is completed. You should not need to make any changes to your configuration.

The upgrade will most likely be unnoticed from the user side of things, but the back end should run more smoothly from here on out.
