Meet some rock stars.

Pictured are Natalie and Preston, the founders of and they’re helping rewrite the narrative for young people experiencing gang/justice involvement. When F.L.Y. came to us about a logo and explained their nonprofit’s vision, we couldn’t wait put a face to it.

They wanted to pay homage to a logo created by one of their youth (see 3rd picture). In our interpretation we:
- removed the drop shadow
-made sure the periods weren’t repeating as hand made art like calligraphy and graffiti don’t repeat perfectly
-made the drips come from the 3D border instead of the word itself
-made the birds negative stencils from the spray paint instead of being standalone
-added some fun colors

I included some graffiti that was an inspiration for the color and feel.

So far they have been able to make stickers, a baby onesie, t-shirt, and that’s just the beginning. Though the logo isn’t nearly as important as their work, being able to create something for them that draws the eye and upholds the professionalism with which they conduct themselves is what we’re all about. serves some delicious coffee out of south Denver. At their Denver Tech Center location, there is a large mountain mural which is what we were trying to capture with this round of merch. In the 3rd photo, you’ll see another design we threw in just to try something different, based on Maroon Bells.

Though the 80s portrait in the last post was a bit untraditional, outside of the name for the wedding (a silly combination of the last names Butler and Rosenberry = Butberry), we created all other materials to look more formal and traditional.

Between the east coast and our hometown getting slammed with snow, it reminded me of this ad from when Denver was under yet another fresh coat of snow. Enjoy some sledding today!

Redamancy - (noun) The act of loving in return.

This was the name of the album that launched the brand for . This album was the catalyst for the rest of the brand, displayed across business cards, posters, the kick drum, and the website.

We chose a very geometric wordmark and triangle icon, consistent on the t-shirts and even a 9 foot wooden sign that hung behind them for their album release.

Art inspires art.

Thomas Harvey is an expert when it comes to crafting wooden furniture and small timber frames. Having seen much of his work firsthand, it’s timeless and striking.

This was the motivation for the logo for . Inspired by Japanese kamons, or family crests, radial symmetry was used to create many variations based on a symbol of an evergreen tree which you can see in the second image. We narrowed it down and replaced two of the trees with tools of woodworking, a pen and a saw.

Beyond just the logo, we’ve created postcards, advertisements, flyers, business cards, branding books, and even an emergency ration during the great toilet paper shortage of 2020 (a wood shaving). It always helps when the clients work speaks for itself and any fan of woodworking will be in awe with his pieces.

One of the benefits of working closely with other marketing teams is we sometimes get a glimpse of how our ad will look next to their work. For our first post in with this client, we caught the eye of readers by matching the style of their adjacent, popular Blind Date feature.

serves some of the best beverages in Denver. Dustin, the gentleman sipping some espresso, started Therizo (a greek word for "reap" or "harvest") to honor the work done by everyone involved in cultivating the amazing crops that are used in making their beverages. Whether it be coffee, tea, beer, or wine – all of these involve a harvest.

The icon symbolizes many of the ideas they hope to embrace as a community. First, a circular outline represents the commonality we all share as human beings and this amazing planet we call home. From the bottom, two lines shoot upwards, symbolizing agricultural growth that is cultivated and harvested by men and women all over the world for them to prepare and enjoy. Finally, the two lines weave together to form the single letter "T", expressing mutuality and interdependence that brings us together for the common good.

Personally, with less than a year under their belt, we think they are excelling in representing their brand with their welcoming staff and consistently tasty coffee presentation.
