We unexpectedly lost my mom on Friday, June 3rd. In what would be our final moments together, we tried on sun hats and sipped iced coffee - chatting about why we preferred oat milk over cream and how Tommy’s nap schedule probably needed to change soon.

It wasn’t ever a perfect relationship, but one thing we got right: we never stayed angry at one another and we always told each other where we stood. There was so much love there and I’m so happy to have had her raise me into the woman I am today: the kind that can laugh, cry, laugh-cry, sob, scream and then order a donut, tap my heels together, and get on with my day.

Meet Tommy ✨ He joined us Sunday afternoon, just in time to make us mom and dad for Thanksgiving 💕

🙏 Grateful is an understatement - for him, our family & friends delivering us food, advice & check-ins from besties, the staff at Lutheran hospital & our doula, the amazing .

If you need us, we’re here in babyland watching Selling Sunset, googling newborn p**p colors and trying on new gnome looks ☺️💛

So much respect to the parents out there - this is such a surreal adventure 🙌

We’ve been making a lot of life and business updates over the last few months here at Emily Belyea Creative and one of them includes supporting and partnering with team USA Olympic and Paralympic athletes to help build and elevate their online presences.

This is especially exciting for me because I am (and always have been) in awe of the Olympics. The inspiration & motivation these athletes give us is life altering and yet, is so often taken for granted. Working side by side with them to take a critical look at how we want to present them to the world, both during and after their Olympic careers is new territory for me - but I’m so here for it 🎉 To serve these individuals, who have already given so much to me, is both an honor and a privilege. 🙏🏼

With that being said, want to see what I’m working on? Zoom in! I’ll be sharing more on this particular project as well as my partnership with in the next coming weeks 😉

Happy business anniversary to me! Swipe to see my first website, built 8 years ago in the basement of the Boylston St. Starbucks with the guidance of my patient web design tutor, . We built it in Dreamweaver (🤣) and I redesigned and moved it to Wordpress the following year. The message hasn't changed much (I still love working with entrepreneurs and small biz owners 💼), but thank goodness the design has 😬⠀ ⠀
In true business anniversary fashion, I just gotta say thanks. Thank you for being here. Thank you for liking and commenting on designs that I post. Thank you for asking me how business is going when you see me. And thank you for referring me to your friends, colleagues, and family members. As a Leo business owner, it feels pretty amazing to know that most of my leads are from word-of-mouth, and I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren't for the endless encouragement I've received along the way.⠀ ⠀
*And a funny story*: One day while I was designing this website in a cafe in Boston, .lohr, who was sitting next to me and working on launching her first clothing line, leaned over and said "Wow, Bel. You're getting really good." 🤣🤣🤣 Needless to say, my aesthetic and her taste have matured since then, but if I could go back and tell those girls how good it was really going to get - they would've rolled their eyes in sync, laughed a little, and sarcastically asked to hear more. I never thought I'd still be running this business in 2018, let alone working on launching what might be our 10th site together. You're a boss and I'm glad I made the decision to follow you to the top 😍⠀ ⠀

Three years ago, I put a photo of a gorgeous studio space lined with factory windows as the front-and-center hero image on my website. I liked the look-and-feel that it gave to my business and brand, and thought that while it would certainly be nice to be in such a space, it probably wasn't in the cards.

Last week we moved into that space. Swipe through to see our new studio (just down the hall from our old one) and remember kids: if you want something really badly, just put a picture of it on your website and wait three years. It'll happen. 😀⠀⠀⠀⠀
