🚨 FBI Issues Warning: New Email Scam Targeting Gmail & Outlook Users!

Heads up, friends! 🚨 The FBI has issued a warning about a new email scam making the rounds, targeting Gmail and Outlook users.

💻 How it works:
⚠️ You get an email claiming to be from Google or Microsoft, warning about unusual activity or security issues.
⚠️ The email includes a fake login link that looks legit but actually steals your password.
⚠️ Once scammers get in, they can lock you out, steal sensitive data, or send phishing emails to your contacts.

🔐 How to stay safe:
✅ Don’t click suspicious links—go directly to your email provider’s website.
✅ Check the sender’s email carefully—scammers use sneaky misspellings.
✅ Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) for extra security.
✅ Report sketchy emails—mark them as phishing instead of replying.

Hey, friends! As we get closer to the holidays, it’s easy to get distracted—and that’s exactly what scammers are counting on. They’re recycling old tricks because, unfortunately, they work!

Here’s what to watch for to stay safe:

🔴 Sense of Urgency – Scammers create false urgency with subject lines like “Your email quarantine report” or “Urgent payment confirmation” to get you to act before you’ve fully processed the message. ⏰

🔴 Emotional Appeal – They tap into our emotions, trying to get us to click on links or open attachments without thinking. 😱

🔴 Mobile Phone Trap – Quick tip: NEVER act on emails while on your mobile phone! Phones only give you a tiny snippet, and key details are often hidden. Wait until you can check on a full screen for the complete picture. 📱

Examples of scams that are making the rounds again:

✔️Suspicious Email Alerts – These emails often claim that your account has been flagged due to validation issues, require you to reset your password, or warn you that your mailbox is full. Don’t click the links! Always verify directly before taking any action. 🚫

✔️ Ransom Emails – The "I have compromising videos or info" scam. It’s designed to scare you into paying—don’t fall for it. 💰

Be Aware: Subscription Bomb Attacks Affecting Inboxes

❓ What is a Subscription Bomb ❓

If you're receiving a flood of emails for newsletters and subscriptions you didn't sign up for, you might be experiencing a "subscription bomb" attack. In this scam, attackers use bots to sign your email up for hundreds of mailing lists at once, overwhelming your inbox with junk mail.

❓ Why Is This Happening ❓

✔ Concealing Fraud: Scammers use this tactic to hide important security notifications from your bank or other accounts, making it easier for them to commit fraud without you noticing.

✔ Creating Nuisance: Sometimes, it's simply to annoy and disrupt your day.

❓ What Can You Do ❓

✔ Enable Bulk Mail Filters: This will prevent most subscription emails from cluttering your inbox.

✔ Create Custom Filter Rules: Block emails with common "subscription confirmation" phrases.

✔ Block & Report: Block Sender and report spam.

✔ Check for Financial Fraud: Be extra vigilant with your online accounts. Scammers may use subscription bombs to hide unauthorized withdrawals or purchases from institutions like your bank, PayPal, or Amazon.

Spam Overload! Unsubscribed but Drowning in More Junk Mail Than Ever?

Recently, there's been a surge in spam flooding our inboxes, overwhelming us with unwanted messages and making us more vulnerable to responding to malicious emails. Many choose to unsubscribe from mailing lists to combat this frustration. However, this approach can backfire, leading to even more spam instead of reducing it. This phenomenon happens for several reasons:

Confirmation of Active Email Addresses: Unsubscribing from a mailing list confirms the validity of your email address, signaling to senders that it is active and actively monitored. This valuable information is exploited by spammers, who may then sell or exploit the email address for future spam campaigns.

Deceptive Tactics: Unreliable unsubscribe mechanisms rely on deception to trick recipients into interacting with spam emails. By masquerading as a legitimate attempt to stop receiving emails, spammers aim to lower recipients' guards and increase the chances of them opening and engaging with future spam messages.

2. Subject Line: Warning: Requirements Regarding Your Domain on The New ICANN Policy

This type of email typically solicits your confirmation or update of contact information with ICANN, ostensibly to prevent the loss of your domain name. Exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of such requests via official channels.
