Most people know USLandGrid because of our land grid and parcel data. What many don't realize is that we've spent years doing custom GIS work for customers across the country.
We've mapped utility easements from old plats, legal descriptions, and scanned documents that were never intended to be used in a GIS. We've helped route pipelines by looking at ownership, federal lands, state lands, terrain, rivers, roads, existing infrastructure, and a long list of other factors that can affect where a line ultimately gets built.
We've worked with developers to map subdivisions before the first road was cut or the first house was built, helping prospective buyers identify lots and visualize what the finished community will eventually look like.
We've also helped county assessors update parcel maps, clean up boundary issues, and modernize datasets that are used every day by government staff, surveyors, appraisers, title companies, and the public.
There usually isn't a button you can click or a dataset you can download that solves the problem. It takes research, experience, and a lot of time spent working through source documents to build something that is accurate and useful.
The final map is important, but the real work happens long before the map is created.
