Most companies calling something an AI agent are really describing automation with better branding.

The useful question is not whether a system sounds intelligent.
The useful question is whether it can read context, decide what happens next, and hand off cleanly when risk goes up.

If it cannot do that, it is not giving you operating leverage.
It is just adding another layer to manage.
