What has been missing is the infrastructure required to help artisans build sustainable careers and businesses.

Too many upholsterers are expected to preserve complex skills while also managing sales, estimating, scheduling, materials, client communication, production, bookkeeping, and training—often without formal systems, reliable support, or a clear pathway for passing the trade forward.

One of the most common things I hear from shop owners is:

"I'm busy enough."

But being busy and being profitable aren't always the same thing.

I'm interested in changing the system itself.

The furniture industry has operated the same way for decades. We buy. We replace. We discard. We lose the stories, craftsmanship, materials, and skilled trades behind the things we bring into our homes.

Renewabl was never intended to be just another software platform.

By building for professionals first, we're creating the foundation for something much larger: a dedicated ecosystem for furniture and home furnishings.

We’re proud to announce that we are now implementing the Renewabl Registry at Repinned Upholstery & Restoration — a new way to preserve not only furniture, but the stories, craftsmanship, materials, and legacy behind every piece we create.

Every completed project will now include a custom QR code hidden inside the furniture, connected to a digital Certificate of Provenance through Renewabl App.

Each registry entry can include:
• The client’s name
• Project details
• The artisans who crafted or restored the piece
• Materials and fabrics used
• Work performed during restoration
• Known maker or furniture history
• Completion dates
• Photos and memories added over time by the owner

Once claimed, clients can continue building their furniture’s story — creating a living time capsule to pass from generation to generation. Owners can upload family photos and stories, preserve the history of the piece, and even digitally transfer ownership if the furniture is passed down or rehomed with another family in the future.

In our eyes, this elevates the craft itself. It adds provenance, emotional connection, and long-term value to custom and restored furniture, making people more likely to preserve these pieces and keep them in circulation rather than sending them to a landfill.
