The solution was on the screen before the client finished describing the problem.

We brought an engineer from our app dev team into the call early. He listened first, asked the next question, and started building while the client was still explaining the struggle. Solutions don't happen by jumping straight to an answer. They happen by digging into what's actually going on, then moving fast once you understand it. By the end of the call, the plan was far enough along that the client joked he might not need to hire us after all.

Not every engineer works at that speed, but that kind of problem solving is one of the core values we build our team around.
