I am terrible at remembering to change the house AC filter. So I forced Home Assistant to fix my bad habits.

​Every single month, my phone gets a notification telling me it is time for a new filter. But it does not just remind me once. It nags me constantly.
​The only way to make it stop is to physically walk up to the air return, change the filter, and scan a hidden NFC tag with my phone. I cannot just swipe the alert away from the couch. I have to physically do the chore to shut the system up.
​Home automation is not just about fancy lights. Sometimes it is just a way to bully yourself into doing basic house maintenance.

I purposely skipped Wife Tok Wednesday this week because I needed to save all of your attention for today. It is officially Xavier’s birthday!

​Instead of a long, sappy post about how much I love him (I do, promise), I’m here to make his actual birthday wish come true. My husband’s love language is literally tech installation. TVs, home theaters, smart lighting, security cameras—if it involves tools, wires, and making a house look incredibly cool, he wants to do it.

​So, for his birthday, do me (and him) a huge favor: if you need any tech installed, let him be your guy.

​When my husband built this office, I thought the multiple monitors and completely hidden wires were total overkill. But honestly, sitting at a desk this clean is a game changer. It beats the kitchen counter any day.
​If you are tired of looking at your own messy home office, or your kid's disastrous gaming setup with cords everywhere, you do not have to live like that.
​My husband builds these setups for a living. Tell him to come fix yours so you never have to look at a tangled extension cord again.

Day two on this install is in the books and the final result speaks for itself.

​This was already a beautiful house, but getting these LED strip lights dialed in completely elevated it. Clean lines, completely hidden wiring, and a perfect, continuous glow. There is nothing quite like that moment you flip them on for the first time and see it all come together.

Follow up to last week's Tech Tuesday. The attic sweating is done, and today we are finally pulling the wire out through the soffit.

​It takes a little extra time to fish it through the overhang like this, but it keeps the outside looking completely clean. Hidden and ready for the camera.

So, like, it is Mrs. Camptown here for Wife Talk Wednesday. And I know, like, exactly what you are thinking. I look literally radiant today. The skincare routine is totally paying off and I definitely do not look like a grown man wearing, like, shop rags as a wig.

​So today we are, like, talking about TVs. Honestly, I personally do not even care if there are, like, wires dangling down the wall. It is just a TV, you know? But my husband, like, literally loses his mind if he sees a single cord.
​So he totally makes a huge deal out of mounting the TVs to the wall and hiding, like, every single wire. I guess I have to admit it does make the room look, like, way better and super clean.

​If your husband is, like, obsessed with hiding wires too, just hire mine to do it so it actually gets done right.

Kids have a terrifying habit of teleporting next to your bed in the pitch black just to stare at you. It is basically a horror movie.

Not in this house.

​I wired a smart sensor to his door as an early warning system. If it opens after bedtime, I get an alert instantly. We intercept him before he even makes it down the hall.

​Home automation isn't just about fancy light colors. Sometimes it is just about preventing a 2 AM heart attack.
