Detroit’s Spin, Inc. and Washtenaw County’s Amplify Project areworking together to bring back an area yearly music gathering that features veteranmusic minds, diverse music producers, and businesses seeking to support musiciansand other artists.Spin, Inc.’s Detroit Electronic Music Conference, also known as the DEMC(pronounced “D Mack”), will take place on Saturday, March 2 from 10am to 5pm at theMorris Lawrence Building at Washtenaw Community College. The free conference’sschedule includes masterclasses provided by veteran producers like DJ Dez and DJHead of Detroit, beat sets by teenage music prodigy Knox Boogie of Flint and others,and a panel discussion about the future of music led by Hip Hop educator Dr. RodWallace of Eastern Michigan University that will include Detroitrap.com’s Uncle P.Sponsors for the free event include music technology companies like Melodyne andSplice, local arts-based nonprofit supporters like the Enterpreneurship Center @ WCCand the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, and local music-based businessesGrove Studios and Leon Speakers.
