The basic idea behind ODIN Workstation is simple. It’s software that guides and controls the production process.

It can run on manual, semi-automated and automated production lines. At the station it shows the operator what needs to happen next and can connect those steps to tools, scanners and machines.

Once the work is complete the factory has a digital record of what happened to that part. So instead of instructions, tools and production data living in separate places, the process is managed from one digital system at the station. The first part of a shift should not be spent working out what the previous team completed, changed or left unresolved.

Most operators want to hand over a station properly. The problem is that paper forms, verbal updates and separate systems can make that difficult, especially during a busy changeover.

Important details can be missed without anyone deliberately doing anything wrong.
