Yesterday morning, our tech team completed their preseason camera installation and testing phase (there may have been some expletives said), as well as troubleshot a router connection issue with our late arrival Verizon friend!

They'll be tweaking the camera angles and YouTube streaming capabilities once the ice crew complete their work at the end of September, just in time for the new season!

This past weekend, we had an offseason member get-together, hosted by new club President Travis and his wife Vicky! There was a lot of good food, plenty of activities, and catching up before the start of the new season!

📣 2026 Cool Duck Update!

Registration for our popular 5U bonspiel will open on August 15 at noon!

With the Cool Duck being a USA Curling 5U Qualifier next season and only 24 spots available, it's expected that this will fill up pretty quickly.

📖 Some Ardsley history...

The Cool Duck started off as an in-house spiel appealing to newer curlers. However, thanks to the work of club members Matt and Bob, it was eventually opened up to other GNCC - Grand National Curling Club clubs. In a very short time, it became arguably our most popular bonspiel.

We used to hang a giant inflatable duck from the rafters, which always posed a challenge for our volunteers. With our camera and streaming capabilities upgraded a few years ago, the duck unfortunately needed to be retired due to blocking the viewing area.

In recent years, the Cool Duck has been a USA Curling 5U National Qualifier, attracting teams from all around the country. It's something we're very proud of and look forward to hosting every season.

Tomorrow, registration for the 2026 version opens up at noon. Set your alarms, tell your teammates, and be ready with nimble fingers.
