Nicor Gas 2025 Community Impact Report

Jak Creative Design partnered with Nicor Gas to help shape a report that shares stories of service, partnership, and meaningful investment across Northern Illinois.

For us, the details matter. The structure, the pacing, the visual system, and the way each story moves from page to page all help make the bigger story easier to understand.

On a recent work trip to New York, a few of us walked the Brooklyn Bridge in the light rain.

We could’ve taken a car, but we didn’t.

At JAK, we believe the best work happens when you’re willing to cross the bridge, not just talk about the view.

The shortcut might get you there faster.

But it won’t teach you what the walk will.

The best creative starts with the audience.

For this American Express direct mail campaign, we designed a package built to connect with construction business owners in a way that felt relevant, practical, and worth their time.

From the messaging to the tactile details, including a grit varnish inspired by sandpaper, the goal was to make the piece feel more intentional and give the audience a stronger reason to open it.

Because when creative understands who it is talking to, the message has a much better chance of getting through.

Today, our esteemed leader, Jill Kerrigan, had the honor of attending the Breaking Barriers: Celebrating Excellence in Female Leadership Luncheon. This inspiring event supports the American Cancer Society’s ResearcHERS movement, dedicated to funding women-led cancer research and addressing the underrepresentation of women in leadership.

Jill joined an incredible group of trailblazing women from diverse industries across the Chicagoland area, united by a shared commitment to fostering empowerment and driving change. The afternoon was filled with networking, inspiration, and a strong sense of community, all while contributing to critical cancer research projects led by women.

We’re proud to support such a vital cause and continue to champion female leadership in all fields. Here’s to breaking barriers and making a difference together! 💪✨
