Yesterday our SAM IT Solutions office was full of practice owners, office managers, and healthcare leaders, all asking the same question: where should AI actually start in a medical practice?
A huge thank you to Harbi Dhanjal, VP of Engineering at Patagonia Health, for a session that was refreshingly practical. His message was simple: Pick one workflow. Find what must be ready. Plan a small test.
No hype, and no “replace your staff” talk. Harbi showed where AI really helps today: overnight voicemails, faxed referrals, reschedule requests, denials and inbox messages. He was just as clear about the guardrails: a named human reviewer, an approved tool with a BAA, and a backup process if something fails.
Every attendee left with an AI Readiness Scorecard filled in, and most of them had found their first gap. That was the goal.
