What’s happening to the housing supply in the Treasure Valley?

According to landproDATA, there are 10,387 vacant lots (lots in recorded subdivisions without a building permit issued) in inventory, continuing the trend of increasing each year since 2018. Newly issued building permits increased in 2023 but still remain low when compared to pre 2022 numbers.

Our 2023 Newsletter is now available! In 2023, submitted final plat lots decreased by 30.3% and recorded subdivision lots decreased by 14.5%. Vacant lots increased by .8% and New Construction Building Permits increased by 12.7%. The number of lots in the development process has decreased, potentially leading to a shortage of new construction lots in 2024.
