Scott Miller and Megan "Shmegs" Silliman are no strangers to the 12 Volt/ Mobile Electronics Industry. Scott's journey started back in 2004 after starting his career path at The Installer Institute in Holly Hills, Florida where he became MECP certified for the first time and, because of the program, landed his first installer position at Highway HiFi in Melbourne. Putting his newly acquired skills
to the test and feeding his appetite for more knowledge, Scott continued to grow as a technician working with a few different employers and attending more industry training and sales seminars which led him into his first management position at Explicit Customs. "Explicit Customs was the first explosion of major growth in my career (even beyond just the installations). I had learned a lot of things along my journey but the staff and family that was Explicit taught me there was so much more to this industry than what we were doing local," says Scott. After meeting Megan in 2011 and sparking her interests in their ever growing craft, they attempted to open their first retail location in 2013, Dotties Customs in Melbourne, Florida. After this endeavor they realized there was a whole bunch more to business than just being technicians/enthusiasts. They then, after a short painful year, closed Dotties Customs and returned to Explicit to open a second location and grow what was an already impressive staff and business into something better that respected the industry as a whole and not just the local warriors they were. After accomplishing what they did at Explicit the thirst for more never ceased for Scott and Megan. Experience was focused as a high end installation facility for premium products and high fidelity sound systems. "We made it, added Scott! The process worked, we were able to continue to learn and grow, and we were happy building a staff and a culture that yielded an amazing client base that was growing outside of local which was everything we wanted." About this time, at a Mobile Solutions training at Dow Electronics, Megan and Scott had the opportunity to spend some time with two people that would impact there future like they would never expect, Don Lester and Sage Weir. These two guys were amazing and as their relationships grew between all of them so did the opportunities. After working back and forth with the guys between Scott and Megs growing Palm Bay store and Don and Sages' very busy and successful Miami store they grew like they had never grown before. As the time went on and the relationship grew so did and amazing opportunity, Scott, Megan, Don, Sage and families all sat down and decided it was time to do what they all deserved and move to Tennessee and open what would be the culminating business of our their careers, Sounds Good Stereo. Sounds Good Stereo was the best of the best with the ability to accomplish anything they wanted. With so much talent in so many different areas of the business they were able to do things other businesses just weren't able to do. They started a high end retail business, a one of a kind YouTube channel, an online store that would offer one of a kind products for a process no one had done before, just amazing stuff. However, with that much talent also came some inability for them all to pull things together in one direction so in December of 2020 Scott and Megan left Sounds Good Stereo. With all the experiences over the last few years of his career and the pandemic coming through and changing quite a bit Scott decided to refocus on what was important and that was family. Scott and Megs then relocated back to some neighboring family in the North Carolina area right on the Georgia border and planted some roots in the N. Georgia Mountains to create what would be the next chapter in their lives, Pressure Lab. " Pressure Lab is the platform Megan and I needed to get passion driven, hand built products to people to see the satisfaction our clients had seen over the years at our stores. We get to build products that make people smile," said Scott. Today Pressure Lab is a growing family owned company that proudly sources all their materials here in the USA. "We will continue to hand build products that we care about to ease the growing difficulty of the installation process and simply make for a more fun and enjoyable driving experience. Thanks to all of you, my family and I continue to grow through what we love everyday so from all of us at the Pressure Lab family, thank you."
