In 2018 I took my first ever graphic design class.
The florescent lights, the u shaped layout, the countless Mac desktops, the fancy printers - I can still remember the excitement of sending a project to print and hanging it up on a board to display and thinking "wow. I created that".
Learning the Adobe products at first felt nearly impossible, and being a graphic designer or any sort of professional creative felt light years away.
But then I took my first web design class, and started learning to code in HTML and CSS. And everything changed for me.
The natural way that my brain organizes information mirrored the way that content is structured in HTML. The act of simplifying your code to make for more accessible websites felt like an obvious necessity in the process.
Spending hours on one tiny detail and finally seeing it function how you envisioned is a satisfaction that you'll never be able to beat.
Fast forward to completing my Associate Degree in the middle of the pandemic. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do or what I even could do. I'd followed some designers on instagram, but really wanted to get into the web space.
Coding websites from scratch using HTML and CSS was a school assignment turned hobby, turned passion. With a basis in graphic design, these sites were beginning to become more and more interesting and engaging visually.
So I decided to start freelancing. And man, was this the best thing I ever did for myself.
I've been a "full-time" freelancer, I've been a part-time side hustler, a working 14 hour days to build my dream-er.
But most importantly - I'm a creative. I try new things, I break the molds, come up with different solutions, and I open your mind to new ideas and perspectives.
So here I am. From the first ever picture to look "legit" and have photos of myself, to my first proper brand shoot with , to my most recent, where I've never felt more supported, confident, and myself.
I'm here for the dreamers, the visionaries, and the creatives. And I can't wait to meet you.
