What changes when AI moves beyond experimentation and starts influencing how enterprises build, operate and compete?
That was the starting point for our recent AIVolve Fireside Chat with Nikhil Swaroop, Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Technology | Engineering Factory, HDFC Bank. The session was moderated by our CHRO Sharad Verma.
With 100+ senior leaders, technologists and AI practitioners from Iris joining the session, Nikhil shared candid perspectives drawn from his experience of driving technology and AI initiatives in a complex banking environment.
The conversation covered what an AI-native bank could look like, the challenge of taking AI from pilots to enterprise scale, its impact on software engineering, the opportunity around legacy modernisation, and how the roles and skills of technologists will evolve.
We also heard Nikhil’s perspective on how technology services will need to change, where partners can continue to add meaningful value, and which capabilities will matter most.
