It’s no secret that at the moment Ukrainians are suffering due to a terrible war on the territory of their country. Of course, the whole situation has a very negative impact on work. Constant stress and moral fatigue have never helped people. That is why, in such difficult times, managers and business owners need to set up the work process as best as possible.
Workload balance
Try to find a balance in the workload of workers. You should not, for any reason, sharply increase the load on your team. On the contrary, for productive work in war conditions, it is advisable to put less workload on your team and only return to the usual mode of operation over time. Appreciate, help, and teach your employees
Transparency of rules
The rules must be clear, accessible, and understandable to everyone. Rules regarding the organization of the work process, payment of wages, deadlines, etc. should be announced and discussed during the interview with the future employee.
Employee support
After February 2022, many people found themselves in various and sometimes dire situations. That is why it is always worth offering and providing support to your employees.
Communication
Communication plays a critical role and is an integral part of effective situation management. A close-knit team will easily cope and endure all the most difficult tasks if communication is properly built. During the war, when many people had to move from other regions without friends and loved ones, communication at work saved their lives from loneliness.
Employee development
Many people mistakenly believe that during war, education and improving skills are not of much use. This is not true. Good managers know that the more a person learns new things, the better and more productive he will work, and therefore bring more benefit to the company.
Discipline and motivation
You need to motivate your employees but do not forget that motivation is a short-term phenomenon, so it is best to establish discipline in the team. Indeed, during the war, many companies switched to a remote work format, and this greatly affected a person’s discipline and performance.
Develop empathy
Be an empathetic leader and promote inclusion. Allow your team to participate in decision-making and keep employee benefits top of mind when implementing new initiatives and policies.
Making mistakes is a necessary learning process.
Your employees shouldn't be afraid to make mistakes for fear of getting fired. Let your employees know that mistakes are normal in the work experience.
