HEART OF TECHNOLOGY: Serverfarm, owner/operator of the Titan Data Center located adjacent to the Port of Moses Lake, offers colocation and connectivity solutions with world-class reliability, efficiency, security, and sustainability. What attracted them to the Port of Moses Lake? Our area offers some of the lowest-cost hydroelectric power, as well as a facility that could be modernized as part of their sustainability mission.
John Woolard, VP Sales North America, said, “It’s not just about low-cost power, it was about this area’s infrastructure being powered by a renewable energy allowing us to responsibly power critical functions of our global client base. The Titan facility will continue to be a flagship example of energy stewardship in the Big Data industry, and all right here in Moses Lake.”
Another industry-setting standard, Serverfarm looks for opportunities to increase capacity by acquiring and modernizing existing facilities rather than building new whenever possible. This results in a significant reduction of carbon emissions resulting from construction. The Titan building, originally constructed as part of Moses Lake’s U.S. Air Force base back in the 1950’s, contains thick concrete walls providing bomb-proof security ideal for web-scale and disaster recovery platforms. Alexis Romero, Marketing, said, “Modernizing this building provides an attractive footprint aligned with our clients’ increasingly greener portfolios while also keeping the Titan building’s history alive.”
Woolard said, “Modern and secure, Serverfarm is delivering best-in-class solutions while reducing environmental impacts. We’re proud to call the Titan facility here in Moses Lake part of our fleet.”
