The lazy graphic designer strikes again. This time the Algerian font is being used at a wide spread chain steak house.

Often, when a small business creates their own ad, the "designer" will choose the first somewhat fancy looking font on their system, which is shown in alphabetical order. That font is almost always "Algerian". If you want a professional appearance to your advertisements, avoid this overused and often ill fitting font.

One of the reasons I love helping people to restore their old photos are the stories behind the images. Everyone who comes through my door with their old pictures wants to tell me about the family and friends that mean so much to them. This week is a world of opposites. On the one hand, I'm restoring an old family photo with 4 young sisters born 1 year apart playing in a claw foot tub, and on the other hand, it's a young man recently returned from vietnam who as an 18 year old, crawled into cramped jungle tunnels with a flashlight, knife and a 45 caliber pistol. These and more are going to make for some wonderful Christmas gifts!

Learned something new today... the voice of Walt Disney's Bambi is Donald "Donnie" Roan Dunagan. A retired child actor, Vietnam War Hero (with a Bronze Star and Three Purple Hearts) and the United States Marine Corps youngest ever drill instructor. So next time you watch "The Sandlot" and Ham Porter exclaims "That Wimpy Deer?!?", you'll know better.
