Tech Tip of the Week
Don’t Factory Reset Your Device
Before Selling It (Yet)
Thinking about selling your Mac, iPhone, or iPad?
Don’t rush to erase it right away.
Before resetting:
Make sure everything is fully backed up
Sign out of iCloud properly
& Turn off Find My
V Double-check you remember your Apple ID password
We see it all the time-people erase their device too early and accidentally lock themselves out or lose important data.

3 Things We Refuse to Sell at Mac Outlet

People often ask why our computers look so clean and reliable.
The truth is simple: we’re very picky about what we put on the shelf.

Here are three things we refuse to sell at Mac Outlet:

1️⃣ Salvaged or liquid-damaged computers
If a device has major liquid damage or a history of serious failure, we don’t sell it. Even if it works today, those machines often develop problems later.

2️⃣ iCloud-locked or questionable devices
If a device can’t be properly signed out of an Apple ID, we won’t touch it. Period. Every device we sell is fully cleared and ready for its new owner.

3️⃣ “Parts machines” disguised as working computers
Sometimes sellers piece together machines from multiple broken devices. We avoid those. If a computer isn’t something we’d feel comfortable using ourselves, it doesn’t make it to the sales floor.

Our goal is simple:
When you buy a Mac from Mac Outlet, it should feel safe, reliable, and ready to use.

That’s the difference between buying from a random online listing and buying from a shop that stands behind what it sells with a warranty.

💡 Mac Outlet Tip of the Week: Not All “Used” Macs Are the Same
One thing we explain a lot in the store:
The Macs we sell are A-grade machines, not salvaged or broken devices.
Every computer at Mac Outlet is:
✔ Fully tested
✔ Professionally cleaned
✔ Reset and ready to go
✔ Checked for hardware issues
✔ Sold with a warranty
There’s a big difference between a professionally refurbished Mac and a random used computer online.
Many online listings can include:
• Salvaged machines
• Liquid-damaged devices
• Parts machines
• Locked or partially working computers
We only sell devices we’d feel comfortable using ourselves.
That’s the difference between buying from a local Apple specialist and taking a gamble online.

How Trade-Ins Work at Mac Outlet

We love buying Apple devices from the community, and we try to make the process simple, transparent, and fair.

When someone brings in a Mac, iPhone, or iPad to sell, we usually check a couple real-world benchmarks — including Apple’s trade-in value and current resale market prices (like SellYourMac). This helps us determine a realistic offer based on the current market.

One thing that sometimes surprises people:
The price you see on eBay isn’t the same as the amount someone actually receives when selling.

Selling online usually means:
• Creating the listing
• Answering buyer questions
• Shipping the device
• Paying marketplace fees (often 13–15%)
• Taking the risk of returns or scams

At Mac Outlet, we handle all of that — testing, cleaning, repairs, warranties, and supporting the customer after the device sells.

So our offers reflect the real market value minus the work and risk we take on.

The upside for you:
✔ Same-day cash
✔ No listings or shipping
✔ No fees
✔ No waiting weeks for a buyer

And there’s another benefit we care about: sustainability.

Every device we refurbish and resell keeps a perfectly good computer or phone out of a landfill and gives it a second life in the community.

Bring it in and we’ll take a look. If the number makes sense for you, great. If not, no pressure at all.
